Our one-day habilitation training with Ute Riedler for postdoctoral researchers offers compact knowledge, practical tips, and a safe space for exchange.

The habilitation remains a key milestone on the path to a professorship – yet it continues to represent a major turning point in academic careers.
Women in particular often face specific challenges at this stage: limited access to informal networks, interdisciplinary research profiles, external habilitations, or a lack of orientation regarding the unwritten rules of the academic system.

This one-day habilitation training is aimed at postdoctoral researchers who already have a concrete habilitation project as well as those planning to pursue a habilitation at the University of Vienna. The goal is to provide essential information on the habilitation process in a compact format while also offering space for questions, exchange, and strategic planning.

Key topics include:

- The role of the habilitation in academic careers

- The habilitation process: requirements, expectations, and different formats

- Unwritten rules and institutional dynamics

- Time management during the habilitation phase
